Some musician friends of ours here in the UK, one day decided to create an online project for musicians all over the world.
This project started quite a few years back and by the looks of it, is getting better and better, mostly because they're keep updating/improving it constantly.
It's about creating stage plots basically and it's ideal for us, and every musician who's gigging. Basically there's a platform where can put all the information, including adding the instruments on a virtual stage and when it's all done, you can share it with the venue's sound engineer before you even get to the venue.
Needless to say me and my band used it ever since. Originally the free version and later on, decided to upgrade for a paid version and that doesn't need and arm and a leg to upgrade and can put absolutely everything needed that a sound engineer needs to know before hand.
So this site called stage plan and the link is https://stage-plan.com/.
I actually didn't know what all that was about to be honest, but thankfully our guitarist and my now mate knew all about it, mostly because he also was doing some sound engineering at some local venues and obviously he knows how time consuming that is especially if you're sharing a stage with other bands like we do.
After that I had a look around out of curiousity mostly to see if anyone else was doing a thing like that online and actually there were quite a few stage plot creators out there but to be honest I didn't find it that much helpful. Maybe because by using stage-plan creator got more familiar with it.
Another thing which I found really annoying with the other plot creators was the limited number of intruments allowed to use on a free plot which to my mind at least that alone makes stage-plan.com go way far ahead from all the others and that's not a joke. The guys have created insturments I never heard before and above all, everyone can use every single one of them even on the free version.
So as I said earlier our friends keep improving their project over the years and hats off to them. That's also one of the reasons we as a band decided to go for a paid version because we could add lots more of details to it like, input list, monitor mix, hospitality rider, and even notes with whatever we can possibly need on that day on the stage and here's a link of the same site basically but with all the options https://stage-plan.com/Stageplan/StagePlotForMusicians
Another thing that really made me like the way they were thinking is that they decided to take their project even further than that and they also decided to target the venues, sound engineers, band managers and people like music schools, by creating a specific version for them so they can send their plots out to musicians and bands that were booked with them etc, rather than the other way round. How clever that was.
In my opinion that's what I call above and beyond for a project like that and that's why I was iching to make this post/feedback about them. Here's a link about their venue stage https://stage-plan.com/Stageplan/ProServices
If you go on to their main home page you'll see how many people have created plots with them, including famous bands and that's not a joke.
The other day they were talking about some known (to them) engineer who's been using their service for Bruce Dickinson and on his portfolio he has names like Kiss Gun's & Roses and artists like that.
Finally, I need to mention that they're always up for feedback from their users and always up to help them out with whatever struggle musicians have when they create their plots.
So, to every musician out there, don't be shy, just go out there and give the https://stage-plan.com/ a go 😊
